Dydrogesterone is used in combination with estrogen as hormone replacement therapy in women with low levels of estrogen and progesterone, typically in menopausal women with an intact uterus.

Infertility due to Luteal Insufficiency:

Dydrogesterone is used to treat infertility due to luteal insufficiency, a condition where the ovary does not secrete enough progesterone.

Endometriosis:

Dydrogesterone is used to treat endometriosis, a condition where endometrial tissue develops outside the uterus, causing symptoms such as painful urination, stomach cramps, and menstrual pain.

Menstrual Abnormalities:

Dosage recommendations for Dydron 10mg Tablet

Endometriosis:

• Adult dose: 10 mg twice to thrice daily, cyclically or continuously.

Recurrent Miscarriage:

• Adult dose: 10 mg twice daily, given cyclically until conception, then continuously until week 20 of pregnancy. The dose may be gradually reduced thereafter.

Menstrual Disorders:

• Adult dose: 10 mg twice daily in a cyclical regimen.

Threatened Miscarriage:

• Adult dose: Initially 40 mg, followed by 10 mg or more every 8 hours, continued for a week after symptoms are relieved. The dose should be gradually reduced if symptoms improve.

Infertility:

• Adult dose: 10 mg twice daily.

Endometrial Protection during Menopausal Hormonal Replacement Therapy:

• Adult dose: 10 mg once to twice daily in a cyclical regimen, or 5 mg daily.

It's essential to take Dydron 10mg Tablet as advised by your physician. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, without crushing or chewing it. Try to take it at the same time each day, with or without food. The correct dose and duration will be determined by your doctor based on factors such as age, body weight, and the specific condition being treated.

Drug Interactions:

1. Dydrogesterone may interact with medications such as anticonvulsants (e.g., acetazolamide, carbamazepine), anti-infectives (e.g., metronidazole, clindamycin), and certain herbal preparations (e.g., Ginkgo Biloba).
2. It may also interact with grapefruit or grapefruit juice and St. John’s wort plant (used for anti-depression).
